The Dialogue Scene (brief 3) is comprised of two parts:

Part 1: Choose a short dialogue scene involving two characters from a favorite film that has:

• 8 to 12 lines of dialogue max

• internal and external reverses

and apply the pre-production process from brief 1: scene premise, treatment, synopsis, protagonists biography, script and storyboard.

Use Celtx to develop your pre-production documentation.

Present in class on Tuesday May 17.

Shoot the scene on May 17-18.

Edit on May 18 and submit May 24.

Part 2: Write a dialogue scene for two characters that is based upon a scenario from a news story.

Obstruction: Using What If?… apply the scene to a location on the Mornington Peninsula

The even lighting of your key color is the principal factor in separating your talent from the key(background). We use blue or green in our studio, but a “key” can be almost any color not close to skin tone.

Research tutorials on the Keylight filter in After Effects, as we’ll be using this to composite. Also, you will want to utilise the computers in 209, as we a re shooting HD (1280 x 720 px) and uncompressing the footage(Keylight requires the use of the Animation(uncompressed) codec. So your files will get about 4 to 5 times larger and will not play back in the 206 computer lab.

All briefs require interpreting the single-minded proposition for a specific target audience. If its a James Cameron film we have an expectation of fast-paced action entertainment. As media developers we understand this will be achieved through the use of a standard 3 act narative structure. The 3D component is the single-minded proposition that exploded audience-sensibilities.
